List GC joins the celebration.

75 years of List Holding Group

From a small, traditional carpentry business to a global player – for 75 years, the List family has stood for the fusion of tradition and innovation.

Making an impact.

The company's history dates back to 1950 when Franz List Sr. founded a small furniture carpentry business in Aspang, Lower Austria. Since then, the company has remained family-owned and has been continuously driven forward by the entrepreneurial spirit of the List family. Today, the family is represented by Reinhard List, Bertram List, and Theresa Ludwiger-List (from left to right) in List Holding GmbH, guiding all strategic matters of the corporate group in this capacity.

In the 1990s, the company initially positioned itself as an exclusive interior outfitter for hotels, river cruise ships, and ocean liners. In 1992, the company was commissioned to renovate the Hotel Louis C. Jacob in Hamburg. The luxury hotel spanned multiple buildings, and the project was particularly challenging as nearly the entire structure was under historic preservation.

In 1996, the company leveraged its experience from various high-end hotel projects to win the bid for the interior outfitting of the MS Deutschland. This allowed the company to realize its first "on-water" project with the renowned "Dream Ship."

At the time still a newcomer in the maritime sector, the company was commissioned in 2000 to provide the initial outfitting of the 196.35-meter-long The World - Residences at Sea. With quality, execution, and perseverance, List GC was able to impress, establishing a long-standing partnership with the ship that continues to this day.

In 2001, the company was able to prove itself for the first time as a turn-key interior outfitter on a luxury yacht with the MY Lady Lola. At 62 meters in length, it no longer ranks among the world’s largest yachts, but its sophisticated interior and high-quality materials made waves at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2002. The yacht continues to impress to this day.

After fire damage on the SY Sea Cloud I, the company was commissioned in 2003 for its first refit. What initially began as a request for minor repair work quickly turned into an extensive project: a team of ten people worked for about a year to complete not only the reconstruction of the damaged areas but also various renovations and modernizations.

In 2008, the owner’s vision for the MY Alfa Nero was to set new standards in European luxury yacht building – and that vision was achieved. The 82-meter luxury yacht represents spectacular engineering, ambitious design, and premium craftsmanship, and it remains one of the most extraordinary yachts in the world today.

In 2014, the decision was made to establish an in-house furniture production facility in Bad Erlach. Production began there in early 2017. Since then, the Bad Erlach location has brought together all areas of expertise, enabling even greater flexibility in responding to market changes and the exclusive wishes of customers.

Since 2018, apprentices have been trained at the production facility in Bad Erlach. In four different fields – carpentry, carpentry technology, paint technology, and upholstery – the next generation gains hands-on experience with exclusive craftsmanship and demanding quality standards.

In 2019, the company ventured into larger waters. For the 111-meter-long MY Alaiya (formerly MY Tis), the company was responsible for the luxury interior across a build area of 722.5 m². With its opulent and intricate details, the implementation of the interior was both a challenge and a source of motivation for the team.

In 2020, List GC celebrated more than 20 years as one of the leading outfitters for luxurious living spaces on both water and land. As a general contractor, it takes on detailed planning, complex project management, high-quality manufacturing, and precise installation. Over 90 motor and sailing yachts today bear the signature of List GC – including some of the most impressive yachts in the world, particularly in the segment of yachts over 60 meters.

In 2022, List GC expanded into Germany. With the acquisition of Cohrs Werkstätten GmbH and, in 2023, the purchase of Riederle Werkstätten GmbH, List GC not only increased its production capacities but also grew by adding highly skilled and specialized professionals.

Since 2023, Yuniti Innovations GmbH has been part of the List Holding Group. The focus is on modular living and working solutions. Innovative spatial concepts combine flexibility and functionality.

In January 2025, List GC became a shareholder in Interior PROMAN GmbH, an expert in the execution of high-quality interior outfittings. With this corporate investment, extensive project management expertise from numerous projects in the areas of yacht new builds and refits is consolidated and further developed.

In 2025, the 75th anniversary of the List Holding Group will be celebrated. Today, the List Holding Group consists of a diverse range of companies. The group includes List General Contractor GmbH, which serves as the core company. The portfolio is further complemented by the subsidiaries Cohrs Werkstätten GmbH and Riederle Werkstätten GmbH, as well as the investment in Interior PROMAN GmbH. With Yuniti Innovations GmbH, the group is also advancing innovative developments.
